file sharing systems
Companies quite often need to give their clients access to files.
Making these files both easily accessible and secure can be
difficult.<</<O:P> </< P>
One solution to this is using FTP ( File transfer Protocol ). But
to the uninitiated setting up user accounts, directories and
permissions can be difficult. FTP is also not very secure as
it sends user name and passwords in plain text (unencrypted) so
anyone with basic knowledge of network sniffing could be listening
in on your passwords.
</< P>For these reasons duo have developed a HTML
file sharing system. It comes with an easy to use interface to add
new users and modify permissions. The file sharing login area
is also secure as it never sends a password over the Internet,
instead it only sends a randomly encrypted hash of the password.
This makes the log-in system much more difficult to hack than
a simple ftp system. |

currently use one version of our file sharing system to allow
teachers from schools in the east Liverpool area share files.
Once one of these systems in in place it can be used for all types
of files. Unlike email there is no 5Mb limit and once uploaded many
people can download the same file. The only limit is the amount of
web space you have available. Also because it is written in HTML it
can be seamlessly integrated into your site. The folders and icons
can all be designed to match your corporate identity.
